Program Summary:

The ARC program supports meritorious research and creative projects across all disciplines at UWM. Proposed projects may be at any stage of development.  Awards are expected to result in scholarly, scientific, and artistic products that will increase the national and international recognition of the awardees, their programs, and the institution.

Applicants must have UWM faculty or academic staff appointments, Principal Investigator status, and the expectation of a continuing appointment. Lead PIs may submit only one proposal per application cycle, although they can be co-PIs on other proposals. Those who received a RACAS award as a PI with a start date of July 2019 or an ARC award that began July 2020 or July 2021 and those who are a PI or co-PI on an active RGI or DIG award are ineligible to apply for the current ARC funding cycle. Also, as a lead PI you may apply for the ARC or the DIG program this year, not both.

Budget limit: $12,500 for single investigator project, $15,000 for multi-investigator project (including fringe).  Researchers may include a request for one course release per person per award.  Summer salary is also available (up to $8,000) if a portion of the research will occur outside the academic year calendar.

Proposals are reviewed externally.
