Program Summary:

The ARC program supports meritorious research and creative projects across all disciplines at UWM. Proposed projects may be at various stages of development. Awards are expected to result in scholarly, scientific, and artistic products that will increase the national and international recognition of the awardees, their programs, and the institution. Subsequent external funding for the project is desirable, but not required. Work funded by the ARC award must be completed within 12 to 18 months.

Applicants must have UWM faculty appointments or academic staff appointments of at least 50% FTE, Principal Investigator (PI) status, and the expectation of a continuing appointment. Lead PIs may submit only one proposal per application cycle, although they can be co-PIs on other proposals. As a lead PI you may apply for the ARC or the DIG program this year, not both. Those who received an ARC award as a PI with a start date of July 2022, 2023, or 2024, those who are a PI or co-PI on an active RGI or DIG award, and those who have not submitted final reports from past internal awards from the Office of Research are ineligible to apply for the current ARC funding cycle.
